Halogen lamp

Halogen lamp provides continuous output from near ultraviolet to the infrared regions of the spectrum. The halogen cycle chemical reaction increases the lifetime of the lamp and also maintains the clarity of the envelope. Therefore the halogen lamp has to work at a higher temperature and is capable of producing light of a higher luminous efficacy and color temperature.

Xenon flash/arc Lamp

A Xenon flash lamp consists of a glass flask filled with the noble gas xenon and there are two electrodes fused inside. Because of this design, a Xenon flash lamp produces extremely intense, incoherent, full-spectrum white light for very short durations. Xenon lamps have higher light intensity and wider spectral range than halogen lamps.

LED

Light emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor element with p-n junction. It emits light when electrons and holes recombine. The color of the light is determined by the band gap energy of the semiconductor material. Different combinations of LEDs can be utilized to get a wide spectrum. The advantage of LED as a light source is lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, robustness, smaller size, and faster switching.

To achieve the miniaturization of the spectrometer and light source, we design a LED light set from the ultraviolet to the visible range. The UV-VIS LEDs light source (280 nm - 800 nm) is integrated on a small PCB that can be used with in a corresponding integrating sphere.

Filter

Optical filters help to selectively transmit light of certain criteria, for example, corresponding to either the wavelength or the intensity. A filter can be selected based on the specific requirements of wavelength range/intensity. Neutral density, monochromatic, long pass bandpass short pass and polarizer filter etc., are some among the few commonly used. We would be pleased to help our customer to select filters based upon their specific application requirement.
